Dr. Martinez Mendoza is a Board Certified pulmonologist that has been serving patients with asthma, chronic infections and obstructive pulmonary disease in the Matamoros area for the last 20 years. Dr. Martinez attended medical school at UANL in Monterrey and completed his residency in pulmonology at the Instituto Nacional de Enfermedades Respiratorias in Mexico City. After practicing a year at the IMSS #25 in Monterrey, he moved to Matamoros and became the Chief of Emergency Medicine at the local IMSS. Today, he splits his time between seeing pulmonology patients at the IMSS and providing care for his private patients. Many patients visit Dr. Martinez to find the underlying cause of their chronic respiratory conditions and to get a tailored treatment plan that delivers results. He is up-to-date on the newest medications available for the treatment of asthma and pulmonary infections and performs outpatient lung function tests as well as bronchoscopies. Dr. Martinez is a member of the Sociedad Mexicana de Neumologia y Cirugia de Torax as well as the Asociacion Mexicana de Medicina Critica y Terapia Intensiva.

Dr. Sauceda is Board Certified in internal medicine and pulmonary disease medicine and has specialized in the care of critically ill patients in the intensive care setting over the past 16 years. He also has a special interest in the outpatient management of cough, asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Dr. Sauceda attended medical school at the UAT in Matamoros and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the Hospital General in Victoria. He specialized in Pulmonary Care medicine at the Instituto Nacional de Enfermedades Respiratorias in Mexico City. Dr. Sauceda has expertise in the management of complex airway problems and regularly performs respiratory function tests in an ambulatory setting. Dr. Sauceda has added qualifications in palliative care. His goal for terminally-ill patients is to enable them to continue an alert, pain-free life and to manage other symptoms so that their last days may be spent with dignity and quality, surrounded by their loved ones. Dr. Sauceda is an associate professor at the UAT School of Medicine, is an active member of the Sociedad Mexicana de Pulmonologia y Cirugia de Torax, is involved in clinical research for new asthma medications, has several publications in pulmonology journals and has been involved in creating National Guidelines for the treatment of COPD and Pneumonia. Dr. Sauceda enjoys reading literature and writing and reciting poetry.
