Dr. Jose de Jesus Leal has been practicing Phlebology (treatment of veins) in the Matamoros area for the last 12 years. He completed medical school at the UAT in Matamoros and his residency in general surgery at Hospital Metropolitano in Monterrey. Dr. Leal was the top student of his graduating medical school class and chief resident during his residency in Nuevo Leon. Dr. Leal completed a year long fellowship at the Vein Treatment Center of Houston , under the tutiledge of world- renowned cardiothoracic surgeon Dr. William P. Kalchoff and received additional training in Frankfurt, Germany from the top vein expert in the world, Dr. Zoltan Varady. Over the last 5 years Dr. Leal has dedicated his practice exclusively to vein treatments and has performed 3,500+ procedures. Dr. Leal performs most procedures on an outpatient basis, using local anesthesia. Commonly performed procedures include: EVLT, perforator leg vein ligation, selective mini-phlebectomy, extravascular laser treatment and sclerotherapy. He utilizes the newest and most sophisticated ultrasound-guided, diodide laser equipment available worldwide. Dr. Leal currently sees patients from 3pm-8pm every day and is 100% bi-lingual.
