Dr. Ivonne Zertuche is a Board-Certified otolaryngologist (ear-nose-throat surgeon) that has been serving patients in the Matamoros area for over nine years. She attended medical school at the UAT School of Medicine in Matamoros and completed her surgical residency in Otolaryngology at the Hospital Regional de Especialidades del IMSS/ UANL in Monterrey. Dr. Zertuche is an active member of the Sociedad Mexicana de Otorrinos and is the current President of the local chapter. She attends various national medical conferences every year in order to stay on top of the latest innovations in endoscopic surgery, allergy treatments and sleep apnea.

A significant number of Dr. Zertuche's patients are moms seeking relief for their children's nasal obstructions caused by allergies or seeking relief from re-current throat infections. A mother herself, Dr. Zertuche has reputation for having a very "kid-friendly" bedside manner. Dr. Zertuche's adult patients range from the patient with chronic sinus pain and difficulty breathing to the exhausted patient with undiagnosed sleep apnea. Dr. Ignacio Mendoza is a Board-Certified otolaryngologist that has been treating patients with chronic sinusitis and nasal obstructions in the Matamoros area for the past 23 years. He completed medical school at the UAT School of Medicine in Tampico and completed his surgical residency in Otolaryngology at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid/Hospital Universitario in Spain. Dr. Mendoza was fellowship trained in neurotology at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Los Angeles, California under the tutiledge of Dr. Jack L. Pulec, who was one of the top otolaryngologists in the US. Dr. Mendoza has been credited with having performed the first facial nerve decompression in Matamoros and together with Dr. Pulec, performed one of the first cochlear implants in Mexico. Dr. Mendoza has served as a board member as well teaching faculty of SOMAO, a national otolaryngology association that specializes in the treatment of allergies. Dr. Mendoza currently has one of the most innovative high-tech audiology and rhinology laboratories in the region. Outfitted with the latest in diagnostic technology, Dr. Mendoza utilizes a variety of multimedia tools to help educate his patients and their family members about their conditions and available treatment options. In his spare time Dr. Mendoza enjoys participating in local cultural events, critiquing award winning film productions and bicycling throughout Spain.

Dr. Claudia Padilla

A medical school graduate from the UAT School of medicine in Matamoros and a otolaryngology surgical resident from the UANL/ Hospital Regional de Especialidades #25 in Monterrey, Dr. Claudia Padilla is a Board-Certified otolaryingologist that has been serving in the Matamoros area for over five years. She treats children for upper airway obstructions, allergies, hearing loss and nasal trauma. She performs tonsillectomies utilizing "hot techniques" which minimize blood loss and places ear ventilation tubes in children without the need for general anesthesia.

Her adult patients vary from the chronic sinusitis sufferer to the patient with vertigo or sleep apnea caused by snoring. Dr. Padilla is trained in endoscopic surgery and has developed a solid reputation for her meticulous deviated septum repairs (septoplasty). Dr. Padilla conducts most of her diagnostic exams in her office including: hearing tests, tympanometry and fiber-optic nasal endoscopy. Sleep apnea studies are conducted at patients' home utilizing a portable diagnostic monitoring device that records airflow, respiratory movement, heart rate and oxygen saturation.
