Dr. Luz Maria Mendez, board certified in general and family medicine, has been treating patients in the Matamoros area for over 25 years. She attended medical school at the UAT School of Medicine in Matamoros and completed her residency in family practice at the IMSS. Over her institutional medical career, Dr. Mendez has headed several departments in the areas of nutrition, continuing education, maternity, family planning, sports medicine and adolescent behavioral health. Dr. Mendez is a founding partner at Clinica Familiar CMI, where a majority of her practice focuses on preventative care, including well-woman exams and executive check-ups. She provides pre-natal counseling for expectant mothers and offers family planning sessions on a regular basis.
