Dr. Alejandro Arrona, Board Certified in Cardiology, has been in private practice in the Matamoros area for 18 years. He focuses on consultative cardiology, with an emphasis on coronary artery disease, and uses advanced technology to find and treat heart disease early. Practice interests include preventive cardiology, management of cardiovascular risk factors and application of early diagnostic strategies such as: stress-testing, holter monitor testing, echocardiography and high-resolution electrocardiography. Dr. Arrona attended medical school at the Universidad de Monterrey and completed his residency and subspecialty cardiology training at Centro Medico Nacional del Noreste in Monterrey. He has extensive institutional experience and has a special interest in rehabilitating cardiac patients after they experience a stroke, revascularization, stent or heart surgery. Dr. Arrona has added qualifications in the implantation and management of pacemakers and defibrillators to prevent sudden death. Dr. Arrona is a member of the Asociacion Nacional de Cardiologia de Mexico, is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and is on staff at the Centro Medico Internacional Emergency Department.
