Dr. Ignacio Mendoza is a Board-Certified otolaryngologist that has been treating patients with chronic sinusitis and nasal obstructions in the Matamoros area for the past 23 years. He completed medical school at the UAT School of Medicine in Tampico and completed his surgical residency in Otolaryngology at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid/Hospital Universitario in Spain. Dr. Mendoza was fellowship trained in neurotology at the GoodSamaritanHospital in Los Angeles, California under the tutiledge of Dr. Jack L. Pulec, who was one of the top otolaryngologists in the US. Dr. Mendoza has been credited with having performed the first facial nerve decompression in Matamoros and together with Dr. Pulec, performed one of the first cochlear implants in Mexico. Dr. Mendoza has served as a board member as well teaching faculty of SOMAO, a national otolaryngology association that specializes in the treatment of allergies. Dr. Mendoza currently has one of the most innovative high-tech audiology and rhinology laboratories in the region. Outfitted with the latest in diagnostic technology, Dr. Mendoza utilizes a variety of multimedia tools to help educate his patients and their family members about their conditions and available treatment options. In his spare time Dr. Mendoza enjoys participating in local cultural events, critiquing award winning film productions and bicycling throughout Spain.
